From the Grand Plaza Milan we suggest you set off
on foot to explore this most vibrant of Italian cities. The Gothic
style Duomo which was founded in 1386 and was at long last completed
in 1809 is the third largest cathedral in the world with seating
for 4000. The recently renovated Museo del Duomo displays treasures
from the cathedral and priceless historical documents. A short distance
from the Grand Plaza Milano, Da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’ is
on display at the Cenacolo Vinciano.
Teatro La Scala known simply as La Scala is the world’s premier
opera house. This neoclassical building built on the site of the
church of Santa Maria alla Scala has played host to hundreds of celebrated
stars and it is where Maria Callas became a legend.
Milan is a shoppers’ paradise and with Via Montenapoleone
just 800 metres away fashion lovers will find the biggest and most

If arriving by air from Linate or Malpensa the easiest
solution is to take one of the frequent shuttle buses or trains that
arrive directly to the main railway station, Milano Centrale, then
a short taxi ride. Alternatively you can take a taxi from
the airports although Malpensa and Orio al Serio are located quite
far from the centre.
